Do you want to make innovative ideas work? Do you want to make an impact ? PADT is currently looking for an engineer who wants to become an expert in electrification and ANSYS Low Frequency Electromagnetics software products. Are you already an expert in this cutting-edge field? No problem. If not, we will train!
In this role, you will assist PADTs sales and support groups in solving complex electromagnetic and electromechanical engineering problems for our customers. This is a technical consultative sales and support role. When youre not on the road, you have the flexibility of dividing your time between our Torrance, CA office, a home office or from customer sites when need.
WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Work closely with potential and current customers to scope technical solutions that meet and optimize their needs
  • Collaborate with sales to identify, advance, and technically drive new opportunity and sustained account support
  • Provide, track, and document first level technical support for existing customers and elevate support when appropriate
  • Develop, organize, and deliver introductory technical training courses on the use of ANSYS electromagnetic simulation products
  • Maintain a general understanding of the breadth of technology provided by all ANSYS product offerings and technical solutions
  • Sustain technical proficiency through ANSYS certifications and continual pursuit of personal, technical, and professional growth
  • Participate in and support internal marketing initiatives that drive customer engagement, education, and grow technical capacity
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Mechatronics, or Applied Mathematics
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience
  • Some experience in electric machines/motors and drives or power electronics
  • A passion for problem solving and the ability to develop practical engineering solutions to difficult problems
  • Exceptional customer service aptitude, as well as communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in both independent and diverse team environments
  • Experience using Microsoft Office tools to include PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Ability to travel up to 30%
Other skills you might have, if not well train
  • Experience using ANSYS Maxwell software
  • Experience in automotive or industrial power industries
  • Familiarity with actuators/solenoids, magnetic sensors/transformers, and/or wireless power transfer devices
  • Familiarity with other relevant ANSYS software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA software packages
  • Familiarity with common programming languages (C, C++, Python, etc.)
